The film is about the immense distances between stars and the long durations we would have to endure in order to traverse them, even if utilizing methods of propulsion at the very limits of scientific knowledge. Ultimately, it comes down to our understanding of physics and the fundamental laws that govern the Universe. If we ever want to travel to stellar destinations beyond our solar system, within the limits of a human lifetime – we will need to find ways to go incredibly fast.
